Residents of Pamir-Alai Proposed to Install a Symbolic Stele at the Checkpoint "Kyzyl-Art" on the Border with Tajikistan

Residents of the rural district of Pamir-Alai, located in the Alay region of the Osh province, expressed their concerns regarding the condition of roads, water supply, and proposed the installation of a stele at the checkpoint "Kyzyl-Art".

The meeting, held on February 6 at the building of the rural administration, gathered local residents and the akim of the Alay district, Chyngyz Bapaev.

Important issues concerning roads, water resources, infrastructure improvement, and land redistribution were discussed at the meeting. Residents also presented their proposals and comments.

In addition, local citizens requested the installation of a symbolic stele at the "Kyzyl-Art" checkpoint, which is located on the border with neighboring Tajikistan.

Kutmanali Anarbaev, the head of the rural administration, also informed those present about the work completed in 2025 and shared plans for 2026.

The "Kyzyl-Art" checkpoint, also known as "Bor-Dobo - road checkpoint," is situated at an altitude of 4,336 meters above sea level.



There are five border crossing points functioning on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border:

- "Kyzyl-Bel - road checkpoint" (Batken district),

- "Kulundu - road checkpoint" (Leilek district),

- "Kairagach - road checkpoint" (Leilek district),

- "Karamyk - road checkpoint" (Chon-Alai district of Osh province),

- "Bor-Dobo - road checkpoint" (Chon-Alai district of Osh province).
