Military bloggers express concerns about the consequences of the blockade
In Russia, the WhatsApp application and the YouTube platform have been completely blocked, while the Telegram messenger has faced partial restrictions. This information has come from Russian news agencies and Telegram channels.
The domain names of WhatsApp and YouTube have been removed from the DNS servers of Roskomnadzor, making them inaccessible without using a VPN.
As for Telegram, its blockade is partial; however, users have already begun to complain about the slowdown of the messenger. In particular, military bloggers have expressed dissatisfaction, believing that the restriction on Telegram could negatively impact the informational support for Russian troops in Ukraine.
Roskomnadzor justified the blockade of the services by citing violations of Russian legislation and court decisions. Additionally, this is related to the attempt to promote a new messenger called MAX, which has not gained popularity among users for a number of reasons, including concerns about surveillance of their actions and devices.
