An avalanche blocked the alternative North-South road

On February 12, an avalanche occurred on the North-South highway, between Aral and Kazarman, in the range of 243-296 km. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The size of the avalanche is currently being assessed.

Vehicle movement has been halted in both directions.

Special equipment is already being used to clear the road, and work is ongoing.

Additionally, as reported by the Ministry of Transport, today, February 12, at 09:29, another avalanche with a volume of about 1000 cubic meters occurred on the section 198-200 km of the alternative road Balikchy - Kazarman - Jalal-Abad (Naryn region), which also led to the closure of traffic. No injuries have been reported. The road is being cleared with the help of special equipment.
