
From February 25 to March 1, the second ranking tournament of the United World Wrestling (UWW) called Muhamet Malo will take place in Tirana, Albania, where the Kyrgyzstan national team will participate.
The team will showcase its strength in all three disciplines: freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women's wrestling.
In the women's category, Kyrgyzstan will be represented by Gulnura Tashtanbekova (up to 65 kg), Meerim Jumanaazarova (up to 68 kg), Nurzat Nurtayeva (up to 72 kg), and Aiperi Medet kyzy (up to 76 kg). The team is coached by Nurbek Izabekov.
In freestyle wrestling, athletes Abdymalik Karachov (up to 57 kg), Bekzat Almaz uulu (up to 61 kg), Bilal Sharip uulu, and Öskönbay Abdisamatov (up to 65 kg) will compete for the country, along with other wrestlers in the weight categories up to 70–92 kg. The head coach of the team is Azat Mirakhimov.
As for Greco-Roman wrestling, Ulan Muratbek uulu (up to 55 kg), Kurmanbek Japarov (up to 60 kg), Bayaman Karimov (up to 67 kg), and other athletes in the weight categories up to 97 kg will represent Kyrgyzstan. The head coach is Ulukbek Karacholokov.
The Muhamet Malo tournament is a significant milestone for Kyrgyz wrestlers, as it will contribute to their advancement in the world ranking and preparation for international competitions in 2026.
