The first stage of developing the new document has already begun with public hearings, where local residents were able to familiarize themselves with the project, offer their comments, and express ideas. The master plan is a key document that defines the future development of infrastructure: from new social facilities to effective land resource management. Citizens have another month to submit their proposals, as each of their opinions is significant for the final version.
Kutman Eraliyev noted that the previous plan was approved in 1982 and covered only 352 hectares, while the new document will cover 1,869 hectares, considering the long-term perspective.
Currently, about 25,000 people live in the rural area:
- 20,000 in the village of Kurshab;
- more than 5,000 in the villages of Erdik and Shagym.
In developing the master plan, specialists take into account the natural population growth.
A total of 13,054,200 soms has been allocated from the republican budget for the creation of the document. Topographic work was completed last year, and the final approval of the new master plan is expected in the second quarter of this year.
