"Show your ID": a raid on brothels and saunas took place in Bishkek

In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, the operation called "Prostitution-Butterfly" continues, initiated to combat illegal activities in the field of intimate services. Police officers are conducting checks in saunas, hotels, and apartments that may be used for such purposes. This was reported by the press service of the Lenin District Police Department.

As part of the operation, law enforcement agencies aim to identify both individuals providing intimate services and those involved in organizing brothels.


Over the past two days, police officers have detained 20 people. Conversations were held with ten of them for preventive purposes, while protocols were drawn up for the other ten under Article 109 of the Code of Offenses concerning prostitution.

Law enforcement agencies strongly urge both residents and guests of the capital to report any cases of intimate services by calling 102.
