The Ministry of Education previously approved a new curriculum that includes the holiday schedule. According to this schedule, instead of the usual week, children will be able to rest only on March 6 (Friday). Thus, after a demanding third quarter, students will have only three days off, considering the weekends.
In May, students will have a break from May 1 to May 11, and just two weeks later, the academic year will end.
The ministry explained this holiday scheme by the new Labor Code, which provides for long weekends in January and May for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
Experts emphasize that the reduction of holidays may negatively affect the psycho-emotional state of children.
