The agenda includes discussions on amendments to the Code on Non-Tax Revenues concerning the increase in fees for alternative service.
Tashiev expressed interest in the reason for the fee increase, to which a representative of the Ministry of Defense responded that the rates were set in 2017, and during this time inflation has significantly changed the situation.
He noted: "Since the rates were fixed in 2017, the average salary has increased from 14,000 soms to 37,000 soms. It is also necessary to take into account expenses for uniforms, food, and other needs that are not covered by the current rates."
Then Tashiev questioned the feasibility of alternative service if a full service term of 12 months is required for work in law enforcement agencies. To this, the Ministry of Defense representative replied that this option is intended for those who cannot serve the full term due to family circumstances or health conditions.
It should be noted that there were previously rumors about the possible detention of Shairbek Tashiev, the younger brother of Kamchybek Tashiev, but this information was denied in the Jogorku Kenesh. It was also reported that Tashiev is currently outside of Kyrgyzstan.
