The representative of the president and government in the Jogorku Kenesh, Bektur Zulpiyev, recently presented the candidacy of Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov for the position of chairman of the State Committee for National Security. This occurred at a meeting of the committee on constitutional legislation, state structure, local self-government, and regulations.
Zulpiyev informed the deputies that Shabdanbekov, born in 1970 in the Jumgal district of the Naryn region, has a higher education, which he obtained at the Kyrgyz State National University in 1991. He began his career in the same year and has been working at the GKNB since 1994, holding various responsible positions.
“He worked in counterintelligence and spent many years in the State Guard Service, the Anti-Terrorism Center, and the Anti-Corruption Service. Since 2020, Shabdanbekov has held the position of deputy chairman of the 9th department,” Zulpiyev noted.
Shabdanbekov's candidacy was approved by the deputies without discussion.
