The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan reports positive trends in the development of viticulture in the country.
As of the end of 2025, the area of vineyards has increased to 2870 hectares, which is 225 hectares, or 8.5%, more than in 2024. The total gross harvest of grapes amounted to 5990.1 tons, which is 1% more compared to the previous year. The average yield was 20.5% per hectare.
To support this sector, from January to May 2025, grape seedlings were imported from Serbia, which underwent quarantine phytosanitary inspection and were selected from virus-free and technical varieties.
In the Leilek district of the Batken region, initiatives to improve viticulture are also being developed. In the rural area of Jany-Jer, cooperatives are engaged in the cultivation of seedlings of the "avatar" and "kishmish" varieties. Additionally, a new nursery is being established here, which will specialize in the production of seedlings of the "avatar," "Monikur Singer," and "kishmish" varieties.
To facilitate the development of digital services in the agricultural sector, an Agroportal is operational. This platform provides farmers with the opportunity to receive government services in an online format and stay updated with current news and information about the sector. Currently available services include tariff quotas, registration of breeding farms, obtaining a fishing license, as well as biological protection and agrochemical services.
The Agroportal aims to digitize agriculture and create a unified information space for all participants in the industry.
