The rarest Pokemon card in history sold at auction for $16.5 million
One of the rarest collectible cards from the Japanese franchise Pokemon was sold at auction in the USA for an impressive sum of $16.5 million. This was reported by The Japan Times.

This card is a golden pendant adorned with 10,000 diamonds, weighing approximately 35 carats.

The price achieved is not only a record for Pokemon cards but also for all collectible cards in general. The new owner is the son of Anthony Scaramucci — the former White House press secretary. Previously, the card belonged to American blogger Logan Paul, who purchased it in 2021 for $5.3 million.

This collectible card featuring Pikachu was first released in 1998, and only 41 copies were created. According to the Guinness World Records, the card received the highest rating from Professional Sports Authenticator, which evaluates cards on a ten-point scale, taking into account factors such as image clarity, the evenness of corners and edges, and the preservation of the original shine.
