This year, 390 thousand new devices are planned to be installed across the country
In Bishkek, an initiative has begun to implement 'smart' meters aimed at digitizing the electricity supply system, carried out by the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan. The project is overseen by the Ministry of Energy.
The implementation of this program is supported by the World Bank.
By 2026, it is planned to install 390 thousand meters nationwide, distributed across regions as follows:
- Bishkek — 91,210;
- Chui Region — 89,129;
- Osh Region — 68,242;
- Batken Region — 54,997;
- Jalal-Abad Region — 71,546.
The goals of this digitization are to improve electricity accounting, reduce commercial and technical losses, enhance the quality of electricity supply, and develop digital infrastructure in this area.
The use of 'smart' meters enables accurate real-time calculation of electricity consumption, quick identification of technical problems, prevention of unauthorized connections, and the formation of accurate data for calculations.
Furthermore, this system creates conditions for effective consumption management, promoting the rational use of energy resources by consumers.
