The Bishkek City Hall lacks the resources for large-scale replacement of utility networks

"If we start replacing everything, we will blow up the city"

The First Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Mirlan Baigonchokov, stated at a meeting of the Bishkek City Council that the city hall lacks the resources for mass replacement of utility infrastructure.

In response to questions about the need to update heating networks, water supply, and sewage systems, he noted that the municipality's actions depend on the city's budget and available funds.

According to Baigonchokov, "if we start replacing everything, we will blow up the city".

As a result, repair work will be carried out gradually as part of a medium-term plan.

However, against the backdrop of active construction of residential and commercial properties throughout the city, many citizens are raising questions about how much longer the existing infrastructure can withstand, which causes significant concern.
