Previously, the Center for Electronic Health considered the possibility of creating an electronic registry for patients with CKD at various stages; however, after the center was disbanded, the project was put on hold.
Doctors note that without such a registry, it is impossible to ensure:
- adequate monitoring of the condition of patients with CKD,
- timely referrals for transplantation,
- planning of necessary resources for dialysis and transplantation,
- control over the implementation of the state program for transplantation.
Experts urge the Ministry of Health to expedite the development and launch of a unified database for CKD and ensure its integration with existing dialysis and transplantation registries.
Additionally, it has been previously reported that there is a global increase in the number of patients with chronic kidney disease. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, more than 4,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are receiving hemodialysis, for which 2.5 billion soms are allocated.
According to medical professionals, low motivation for preventive examinations and untimely diagnosis, as well as poverty and labor migration among the population, are the main factors affecting the situation.
