The government of Kyrgyzstan has adopted amendments to the resolution dated March 3, 2025, number 105, concerning the identification of animals and their products. The aim of the innovations is to adapt the rules to current legislation and clarify the methods of visual identification of livestock.

According to the new document, when identifying cattle, as well as horses, donkeys, and mules, it is permitted to use not only chips but also additional marking—a special stamp with the symbol "i". This stamp is applied using liquid nitrogen on the left side of the animal, in the thigh area or on the lower part of the cheek in front of the jaw.

This innovation is expected to simplify the visual recognition of already identified animals and reduce the risk of their substitution during transportation or sale.

These changes will come into effect ten days after publication.
