Work is underway on an agreement with three countries
At a meeting of the committee on industrial policy, transport, and energy, Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibraev reported on the completion of the feasibility study for the Kambar-Ata HPP project.
Additionally, he noted that work on the environmental protection section has also been completed.
“At the moment, we are in the process of preparing an agreement between the three states. Uzbekistan has already submitted its comments and proposals. As soon as Kazakhstan provides its feedback, a meeting of the working group of all three countries will be held. The World Bank has set us the task of completing the preparation of the intergovernmental agreement by April,” the minister added.
Ibraev also reported on a meeting with donors in Brussels, where negotiations were held with 11 international organizations. They expressed their readiness to allocate funding to Kyrgyzstan in the amount of $2.6 billion.
This funding can be provided after the signing of the agreement between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
