As stated in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 131 dated February 23, the establishment of the company is aimed at implementing modern space technologies for obtaining aerospace images, which will be used for the effective use and accounting of land resources, monitoring the state of the environment, tracking climate changes, identifying important minerals, and preventing potential emergencies.
The founder and sole shareholder of OJSC "Kyrgyz Satellite" is the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, acting on behalf of the government.The office of "Kyrgyz Satellite" will be located in Karakol, Issyk-Kul region, based on a gratuitous use agreement with an obligation to pay for utility and operational services. The city administration has been instructed to allocate a land plot for the construction and placement of this facility.
The resolution will come into force fifteen days after its official publication.
