On the official website of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law has been presented that proposes amendments to the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. These changes concern the protection of consumer rights and liability for violations related to the sale of organic products. The main focus is on tightening the rules for the sale, labeling, and publication of information about organic goods on the internet.

According to the draft, certified organic products must be allocated special shelves in stores, and a separate section must be created on sellers' websites for remote trading.

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in fines ranging from 3,000 to 20,000 soms, depending on whether the violator is an individual or a legal entity.

Additionally, the amendments propose to establish liability for the use of symbols and pictograms that may mislead consumers regarding ordinary goods if they are similar to the logos of organic products.

In the explanatory note, the developers claim that this draft law is aimed at supporting organic agriculture, increasing market transparency, and protecting consumers from misleading information. The authors assure that the law will not require additional budget expenditures and will not lead to negative social or economic consequences.

The draft law is available for discussion on the parliament's website and will be put to a vote after consideration in the Jogorku Kenesh.
