According to him, this event violates national values
At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of science, education, culture, and youth policy, deputy Bolot Saginayev stated that the 'Kolfest' festival, held a few years ago on Issyk-Kul, exhibited manifestations that, in his opinion, contradict the law prohibiting the promotion of LGBT and undermine national values.
He noted that local residents provided photo and video evidence showing festival participants wearing national clothing on bare bodies and demonstrating behavior alien to the cultural traditions of the region.
Furthermore, according to the deputy, used syringes were found the day after the festival ended, which also raises concerns.
This year, the festival is again planned to take place, and the deputy believes it should be banned to avoid a repetition of such incidents.
According to information on the official festival website, KOLFEST is an international music, art, and cultural festival held on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
The festival is scheduled for July 24-26 of this year.
