She raised questions about the legality of the actions of "Tazalyk" and the justification for allocating significant amounts from the city budget for the shooting of stray dogs. "Why are these funds not directed towards sterilization or the creation of shelters?" the deputy noted. She urged her colleagues in the city council to pay attention to this issue and not to support such cruel measures, and also called on the Bishkek Prosecutor's Office to intervene and check the activities of municipal services. "Is it really impossible to solve this problem in a humane way? This is cruel treatment of animals, for which criminal liability is provided under Article 163 of the Criminal Code," Kozhokulova added.
The deputy also requested the General Prosecutor's Office to consider this issue within its authority.
