A recent video that appeared on social media showed employees of the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" conducting a shooting of dogs on one of the streets of Bishkek. This incident caused strong outrage among internet users.
According to the city administration, the shooting was carried out in accordance with the order of the Lenin District Administration of Bishkek, issued on February 11.
According to official data, more than 30 dogs and 50 cats were kept on a private property in the MTU "Novopavlovka," which exceeds the permissible limits for keeping pets.
Furthermore, the city administration clarified that these animals lacked vaccination confirmations and veterinary passports.
“During the operation, one of the citizens exhibited aggression and actively interfered with the work of the employees. She also released dogs towards them, which posed a real threat to their life and health,” the press service of the city administration noted.
Local authorities emphasized that in Bishkek, no more than two dogs and three cats are allowed to be kept on the premises of one household. Law enforcement officers, as well as specialists from the sanitary-epidemiological and veterinary services, visited the animal owner more than seven times.
“As a result of the dangerous situation, a forced shooting of one dog, which posed an immediate threat, was carried out. We emphasize that no other dogs were shot,” the press service of the city administration added.
