The municipal authorities of Bishkek have presented a draft resolution titled "On the issues of regulating the activities of municipal parking lots and stands within the city." This document will be discussed by the deputies of the city council.
The main points of the draft include:
- approval of the document regulating the activities of municipal parking lots and stands;
- establishment of official parking tariffs;
- introduction of hourly pricing for parking with an automated time tracking system.
According to the city hall, a differentiated (zonal) payment system is planned to be implemented in the central part of the city, where the cost of parking will vary from 30 to 50 soms depending on the specific zone.
As for parking with an automated system, the following hourly rates are proposed:
- 30–50 soms for the first two hours;
- 20 soms for each subsequent hour.
The city hall emphasizes that the introduction of an automated system should help reduce instances of long-term parking in high-demand areas, improve management efficiency, and enhance the parking infrastructure of the capital.
The draft resolution is available on the official website of the Bishkek City Council.
