New Osh Market
The new Osh Market will be located on an area of 155,000 square meters along the road to the "Manas" airport (on the Vasilievsky tract) and its construction is promised to be completed by the summer of this year. The relocation of traders will begin on August 1, however, they report that they have not yet received final decisions regarding their placement in the new market, having only received verbal promises. Kanibek Tumanbaev claimed that the relocation process would be "organized and without delays." Representatives of the Administration have not yet commented on the situation.Residents' Opinions
Many surveyed residents express concerns that after the relocation of the Osh Market, travel time to the "Manas" airport will significantly increase. One respondent noted that even now, during peak hours, traffic jams often occur on the road to the airport.The authorities hope that some of the population will start using public transport. To facilitate this, they plan to expand some sections of Molodoy Gvardii Street to four lanes, so that the main flow of traffic from the city center can move along this road, while the Northern Bypass Road will be expanded to six lanes.

Additionally, a two-level interchange of the "cloverleaf" type will be built at the intersection of these roads.

To relieve traffic on the Vasilievsky tract, the Ministry of Transport is considering the idea of constructing a new four-lane road to the "Manas" airport, which will run from the intersection of Molodoy Gvardii Street and the Northern Bypass Road. However, the start and completion dates for construction remain unknown.

It is also planned to build about 9 km of access roads to the new Osh Market, including a bypass along Profsoyuznaya Street from Kustanayskaya Street to the traffic police post. The reconstruction of the road from the SEZ "Bishkek" to the Ala-Archa reservoir is also part of the authorities' plans, but details remain uncertain. The Ministry of Transport has not provided additional comments.
Work on expanding Molodoy Gvardii Street, the Northern Bypass Road, and constructing the "cloverleaf" interchange has already begun in some areas, with completion dates set for mid to late 2026. At the same time, the timelines for other road infrastructure projects remain unclear. Thus, in the first months or even years after the relocation of the Osh Market, traffic on the Vasilievsky tract may significantly increase.
