According to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek, on March 13, 2026, information about a gunshot was received at the emergency service number "102," which was reported to have come from a vehicle near a banquet hall on Kozhomberdieva Street.
The investigative-operational group of the Lenin District Department of Internal Affairs immediately went to the scene. During the inspection of a GAC vehicle, the body of a man born in 1981 with a gunshot wound was discovered. It was later revealed that this was Kubanychbek Kapalov, the Deputy Head of the Enforcement Service.
While examining the crime scene, law enforcement officers seized a smoothbore shotgun "Izh-18" caliber 12, 13 cartridges, a shell casing, two mobile phones (models iPhone-15 and Redmi), as well as a suicide note and other important evidence.
According to preliminary conclusions from the forensic expert, the deceased had gunshot wounds in the chest area. A forensic examination has been appointed for a more detailed study of the nature of the injuries.
According to preliminary data, financial difficulties may have been the reason for the tragedy, which allegedly led the man to decide to take his own life.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Currently, law enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation, establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
