The rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Sergey Volkov, reported at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh that in the academic year 2026–2027, Russia will provide 550 budget places for students of KRSU. This is a 30% increase compared to the previous year.

“We expect that the Kyrgyz side will also allocate budget places in a similar volume. This will allow at least 1000 students to receive education on a free basis,” noted Sergey Volkov.

It is worth noting that the current committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on science, education, innovative development, and information technologies, as well as culture, sports, and youth affairs, is discussing the draft ratification of the agreement on the construction of a new campus for KRSU. The area allocated for construction is approximately 30 hectares and is located in the Baytik rural district of the Alamudun district in the Chui region.
