
The summit is scheduled for September this year in Seoul.
Minister of Health Damir Osmonov held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Korea to Kyrgyzstan Kim Kwan-jae, as reported by the press service of the ministry.
During the negotiations, current issues and the future of bilateral cooperation in the field of health care were discussed.
The parties also touched upon preparations for the 'Central Asia - Republic of Korea' summit, which will take place in 2026.
This summit is seen as a significant platform for deepening strategic dialogue and expanding practical interaction.
Significant attention during the conversation was given to infrastructure projects in health care that are being implemented with the support of the Economic Development Cooperation Fund. In particular, the construction of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital is currently underway, as well as preparations for the modernization and construction of a new building for the National Hospital as part of the 'Medical Town' initiative.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of cooperation in training medical personnel. Kyrgyz specialists are undergoing training under programs supported by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, including the international Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the Republic of Korea for regular medical missions and humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting the population and developing the health care system in Kyrgyzstan.
