
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the discussion covered the implementation of infrastructure projects in healthcare. One of the key points was the continuation of the construction of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, supported by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund. Plans for the modernization and construction of a new building for the National Hospital as part of the creation of a Medical City were also discussed.
A key issue was the training programs for medical personnel. Kyrgyz specialists participate in training under programs organized with the support of the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare, including the international Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program.
Minister Osmonov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan highly values its relationship with the Republic of Korea and is committed to developing mutually beneficial partnerships. He reminded that a comprehensive partnership between the countries was established in December 2024, which opened new horizons for expanding cooperation, especially in the field of healthcare.
The interlocutors also touched upon preparations for the "Central Asia - Republic of Korea" summit, scheduled for 2026, which will be an important platform for strengthening strategic dialogue.
The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for the regular medical missions and humanitarian assistance from the Republic of Korea, aimed at supporting the population and developing the healthcare system.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation, including the development of medical infrastructure, training of medical personnel, and exchange of experiences.
