This year in Naryn, in honor of the Nowruz holiday, a unique competition "Best Sumolok" will be held at the national level.
The event is organized by the Public Association "Kyrgyz Birimdik". Teams from all districts of the Naryn region will participate in the competition, simultaneously launching 40 cauldrons to prepare this traditional dish.
"This initiative is aimed at promoting development and prosperity, as well as peace for the residents of Tenir-Tuu, who live in challenging climatic conditions. The winner will receive a prize of 100,000 soms, the second place will get 50,000, and the third place will receive 30,000 soms," said the chairwoman of the Public Association "Kyrgyz Birimdik," Dana Abdybekova.
She added that the efforts of all participants will be recognized, and each team will receive consolation prizes ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 soms.
The preparation of sumolok will begin on March 20 in the "Tian-Shan" park in Naryn. This traditional event will be accompanied by a cultural program and various festive activities.
