According to Abdirasulova, the activist was subjected to beatings, electric shock, and choking, while those responsible have still not faced any punishment.
Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova also noted that despite discussions of a "thaw," questions arise regarding law enforcement practices. She believes that some citizens continue to remain in custody without their cases being reviewed, while others are released on probation without proper assessment by state authorities.
She questions why Kanikei Aranova, a single mother, is in prison, while Adilet Baltabay, as the human rights activist claims, received a sentence only for protesting against casinos? Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova also expresses doubt about the validity of the sentence against Askhat Zhetigen, pointing out that if the case involves foul language, "then half the country should be behind bars."
Additionally, the human rights activist raised the issue of holding accountable those who, according to her, may have been involved in fabricating criminal cases, including experts.

Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova also shared a new letter from Askhat Zhetigen, in which the akyn reaffirms his commitment to principles and does not regret speaking the truth, despite his imprisonment.
He describes how he steadfastly endures the trials that have come his way and finds solace in the fact that his creativity continues to live in the hearts of people, inspiring the youth. Askhat Zhetigen expressed hope that his service to the homeland is just beginning and concluded the letter with hopes for a soon reunion with his loved ones.
Recall that in early March, Askhat Zhetigen reported pressure, threats, and violations in colony No. 27 after filing complaints with the ombudsman about corruption, claiming that he was unlawfully placed in a punishment cell. Later, lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov reported that after the visit of the head of the State Penitentiary Service, the akyn was released from the punishment isolation cell, and the administration of the institution was reminded of the need to respect the rights of prisoners.
