This year, 144 drivers working in municipal bus transport were dismissed in Bishkek for various reasons. This was reported by Arthur Omurzakov, the chief engineer of the bus fleet No. 2 of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," on the air of "Birinchi Radio."

Of those dismissed, 57 drivers were blacklisted. "These employees will not be able to get a job in our bus fleet or other municipal services, such as 'Tazalyk' and 'Bishkekzelenstroy.' One of the reasons for dismissal may be running a red light, which is considered a serious violation of traffic rules," noted Omurzakov.

He also mentioned that regular meetings are held with drivers to explain the rules; however, there are still unscrupulous workers among them.

"We have no other means of influencing them besides dismissal. We cannot resort to harsh measures. We apply all available administrative measures, including dismissals. Regularly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, we conduct raids at the busiest stops to monitor compliance with traffic rules by bus drivers. In 2025, about 150 such inspections were organized," he added.
