According to a study conducted in Bishkek, 70 percent of traffic accidents involving buses occur due to the fault of third parties. This was reported on the air of "Birinchi Radio" by Arthur Omurzakov, the chief engineer of the bus fleet No. 2 of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport."

According to Omurzakov, among the culprits of accidents, drivers of passenger cars and other road users are often found.

“Our city has five bus fleets, and the total number of drivers is 2,660. Among them, there are both responsible and less conscientious drivers. Various incidents occur on the roads, and buses do not move alone — they interact with other road participants. As part of the management's work, 18 meetings were held in 2025 with the participation of representatives from the Public Safety Management of Bishkek, where the importance of adhering to traffic rules was discussed,” he noted.

The engineer also added that drivers who are found to be at fault in traffic accidents lose their bonuses and are required to independently repair the municipal buses.

“If a driver does not have the necessary funds for repairs, they can submit a request for a deduction from their salary, and a defect report is drawn up for the restoration of the bus,” Omurzakov explained.
