“The president paid special attention to this issue”
Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the press service of the presidential administration, spoke about the situation regarding the possible demolition of residential buildings in the Anar-Bak area, located near Bishkek.
He noted that a decision to demolish the buildings had indeed been made.
“Information about citizens' dissatisfaction regarding the demolition of houses in winter conditions appeared on social networks. This information was conveyed to President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich. He took note of this and instructed to temporarily suspend the demolition of residential houses where people live until the end of the winter period,” he added.
In addition, Orunbekov mentioned that Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev confirmed that the demolition of housing where people reside is not planned. According to him, the authorities intend to dismantle only illegal foundations, structures of unfinished buildings, and buildings that are unoccupied.
