It should be noted that the implementation of the self-ban mechanism in Kyrgyzstan began on November 1, 2024. This initiative aims to reduce the number of fraudulent operations and protect citizens from obtaining loans without their consent.
Citizens can independently set and remove the self-ban through the state electronic services portal, which is done free of charge. Information about the ban is sent to the selected credit bureaus.
Financial organizations are required to check for the existence of a self-ban and refuse to grant a loan if such a ban is in place.
The legislative changes that introduced this mechanism were signed by the president in the summer of 2025.
