A historical film will be made in Kyrgyzstan based on the novel 'Syndan Kylch'

The action of the film will take place in the territory of the Kokand Khanate


A film adaptation of the historical novel by Tologon Kasymbekov titled "Syndan Kylch" ("Broken Sword") is planned to be created in Kyrgyzstan. This information was provided by the Ministry of Culture of the republic.

The budget for the project is currently being approved, and the script will be developed by the renowned playwright Sultan Raev. Filming is expected to begin at the end of 2026.

The plot of the work covers events that took place in the territory of the Kokand Khanate from 1801 to 1876. The novel reflects the complex historical events related to the integration of the Kyrgyz into the Russian Empire. At the center of the narrative is the struggle for power, popular uprisings, and the fates of individual characters intertwined with the fate of the entire nation.
