The Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev announced on January 19 at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee that filming of the movie based on Tologon Kasymbekov's novel "Syngan Kylych" ("Broken Sword") is planned for the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.

He noted that the Ministry of Culture intends to focus on creating historical films, which are of priority importance as they contribute to the formation of ideology. The last significant project in this area was the film "Kurmanjan Datka," which was released ten years ago.

A commission has already been formed for the implementation of the "Syngan Kylych" project, and the script will be developed by Sultan Raev.
