A Man Illegally Held a Golden Eagle in the Kara-Kulja District

In the Kara-Kulja district, a case of illegal captivity of a golden eagle, which is protected by the Red Book, was recorded.

According to the Osh regional office of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, on January 27, 2026, information was received that one of the citizens was illegally keeping a golden eagle at his home in the Kara-Kulja district.

In response to this report, inspectors, together with representatives of the NABU organization and the "Bars-2" group, carried out the necessary measures, as a result of which the offender was identified. According to Article 262-1 of the Code of Offenses, concerning "Export, transportation, storage, and sale of illegally obtained wildlife objects," a protocol was drawn up against the offender, and a fine of 20,000 soms was imposed.

The confiscated golden eagle was successfully released back into its natural habitat.
