A plasma cloud from solar flares may hit Earth on the night of January 1st.
A series of flares occurred on the Sun, including two powerful M-class flares, and the resulting plasma cloud may touch Earth on the night of January 1. This information was provided by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, reports Interfax. According to the report, the first of the recorded events occurred at 1:39 AM (M4.2 level), and the second at 3:02 AM (M2.2), Moscow time.
