The question of whether it's better to give emotions or things turned out to be more complex than expected. Some respondents recalled cozy evenings with family and unexpected meetings, while others focused on specific gifts that either still bring joy or have long been forgotten.

Many survey participants noted that emotions tend to stay in memory longer. For some, it was family holidays, while for others, it was trips to distant countries. One of the respondents shared that the most memorable gift for her was a trip to Phu Quoc Island.

“We had an unforgettable time there, and those emotions will stay with me forever,” she said.

However, material things also hold their value, especially if they are desired. Popular gifts often mentioned include gadgets like smartphones and cameras. Yet even those who were happy with new devices admitted that the emotions they evoke are less than those from trips or unexpected surprises.

The list of the most unsuccessful gifts turned out to be quite simple. Socks and dishes were mentioned most often, especially if chosen without considering the recipient's preferences. “The wrong dishes,” one survey participant clarified, “can greatly overshadow the joy of the gift.”

Unexpected gifts, according to respondents, leave the strongest memories: “The best gift is sudden meetings with dear people, surprises for no reason, and moments that can't be prepared for in advance.”

However, the most valuable gift mentioned during the survey had nothing to do with emotions or material things. One of the respondents stated without hesitation that the birth of her daughter is an event that cannot be compared to anything else.
