"It is important for them to have as many clients as possible"
Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, discussed in his interview with the agency "Kabar" the issues related to private driving schools and the necessary reforms in driver training.
According to him, the administration is currently working on organizing this sector in accordance with his directives.
The president noted that "reforms are underway." He pointed out that there have not been such significant changes in driver training and vehicle registration since Soviet times. "The system was immersed in corruption, and almost all leaders were involved in corrupt practices," he added.
Japarov also reported that now the country produces state license plates, driver's licenses, and vehicle registration certificates.
Previously, these documents had to be purchased abroad, and many believed that Kyrgyzstan would not be able to manage on its own. "But we did it. All data is now in a fully digitized database. Now it is time to pay attention to driving schools. Unfortunately, most of them do not provide quality education. They are only interested in profit and the number of clients. Such issues are not observed in state educational institutions. They have modern equipment, qualified teachers, and appropriate facilities," the president emphasized.
