Currently, the exchange of old licenses is being carried out free of charge within one month. If not all citizens manage to complete the process within the established timeframe, they will have the opportunity to extend it.
Additionally, the requirement for a medical certificate in form 083, which was previously mandatory for the replacement of the document, has been canceled.
According to Orunbekov, the need to replace driver's licenses is due to several factors. First of all, old licenses often became targets for forgery, and, as practice shows, cases of their illegal production and sale continue to be recorded, including outside of Kyrgyzstan. Furthermore, over time, many licenses have had their photos and inscriptions worn away. It is important to note that a number of foreign countries do not recognize such licenses.
New samples of driver's licenses are recognized in several countries and are fully digitized, which significantly reduces the risk of forgery.
Upon completion of the replacement process, all old licenses will be declared invalid.
Citizens whose driver's licenses are not displayed in the "Tunduk" system must personally contact the relevant state authorities. Those whose data is entered into the system will have access to the license exchange in an online format.
