Today, February 2, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic was supposed to consider the petition of journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy regarding the resumption of judicial proceedings in connection with newly discovered circumstances. However, the hearing has been postponed to next month. The press service of the Supreme Court confirmed this information to the publication Kaktus.media.

The reason for the postponement was the large volume of case materials, which requires additional time for detailed study. The new date for the hearing is set for March 3 at 11:00.

For reference, Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained along with ten colleagues from Temirov Live in January 2024. They were charged with organizing mass riots. On February 25, 2025, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three of the detainees and upheld the previously issued decisions: Tajibek kyzy received six years of imprisonment, Azamat Ishenbekov was sentenced to five years, and Aika Beishikeeva was given three years of probation. Aktilek Kaparov was also sentenced to three years of probation and did not appeal this decision. The other seven defendants in the case were acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

The Supreme Court was supposed to consider the petition for the resumption of the case today, which is related to the procedural decision to accept or reject this request.
