During today's session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Bakyt Torobaev, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, reported on new legislative changes regarding penalties for grazing livestock on winter crops.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the area of winter crops in the country and their sufficiency to meet the needs of the population.

According to Torobaev, 257 thousand hectares of land were cultivated in the autumn period, and work is planned for 885 thousand hectares in the spring.

Touching on the topic of care for winter crops, the deputy noted that during the winter period, many farmers allow livestock to graze on these fields, which negatively affects the yield.

“The fines for such violations are not significant — only 2-3 thousand soms. How can we change the situation?” Bekeshev asked.

In response, Torobaev stated that a new government decree has been adopted, under which the Ministry of Internal Affairs will take control of compliance with these regulations.

“Farmers who violate the rules for the first time will face a fine, and upon repeated violations, their livestock will be confiscated,” he added.
