In Batken, the State National Security Committee (GKNB) uncovered a corruption scheme involving the illegal recruitment of cadets into driving schools. On February 11, the press service of the GKNB reported the identification of a corruption scheme related to the illegal enrollment of cadets in driving schools in the Batken region.

The investigation established that some driving school leaders, acting within an organized criminal group, conducted fictitious recruitment of citizens for training, despite the fact that these individuals were outside of Kyrgyzstan. To extract illegal profits, enrollments were carried out remotely, without actual participation in training courses, and with the issuance of fake documents certifying the completion of training.

“Individuals who possess neither knowledge of traffic rules nor basic driving skills, after formal 'training,' return to Kyrgyzstan, where they receive certificates of course completion. With the help of corrupt connections, they successfully pass theoretical and practical exams and obtain driver's licenses,” the GKNB noted.

During searches, evidence was seized confirming the regular enrollment of cadets in private driving schools while they were abroad.

The investigation continues to work on identifying other participants in the scheme and is also considering the possibility of revoking driver's licenses issued under this corruption practice.
