Starting from February 10, the Kyrgyz Republic will begin accepting applications for state driving schools and will implement a modernized driver training program. This information was provided by Kaktus.media from the Office of the President of the KR.

Applications can only be submitted online through the official resource avtomektep.srs.kg.

To complete the application, you will need to provide your personal details, select the training region and the category for which you plan to train, after which you must submit the electronic application through the platform.

After analyzing the application, candidates will be enrolled in the driving school in the selected region.

It is also reported that the theoretical part of the training will take place online. To optimize the training process, several educational streams have been organized, which will allow for a greater number of applications to be covered and to avoid overloading educational institutions.

“Every day, new state driving schools are joining the training process. One educational institution can simultaneously conduct several streams of trainees, which contributes to an even distribution of students across regions,” the agency added.

As part of the reform, updated driver training programs have also been introduced, aimed at improving the quality of education, fostering a culture of safe driving, and reducing the number of road traffic accidents.

The programs include in-depth study of traffic rules, enhanced practical training, the use of modern simulators, and instruction in the basics of vehicle maintenance.

Trainees who successfully pass the tests and exams will be able to obtain a temporary driver's license for a period of one year. If there are no violations of traffic rules during this time, they will be issued permanent rights.

In November of this year, the head of the president's office, Kanbek Tumanbaev, announced that all private driving schools would be transferred to state management. According to the new rules, training for a category B driver's license will take ten months, including training and testing, while for category C it will take twelve months. Classes in state driving schools will be held two to three times a week for two to three hours, with part of the course available online.

Entrepreneurs oppose such changes, and trainees complain about difficulties in obtaining certificates. Some deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh have also expressed criticism of these innovations, characterizing them as "ephemeral reforms."

On January 29, a presidential decree suspended the operation of private driving schools. Sadyr Japarov also noted that for outstanding trainees, the training course may be shortened.
