According to the press secretary of the first president of Kazakhstan, Aidos Ukibai, since April 2025, Sara Nazarbayeva has been receiving treatment at the National Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a large myocardial infarction.

Doctors found that she has ischemic heart disease, as well as heart and lung failure against the backdrop of severe diabetes and progressing chronic kidney failure.
“Her condition has stabilized, and in January of this year, she was discharged from the hospital. Currently, Sara Alpyisovna is under the supervision of doctors at home,” the source reports.
Information about Sara Nazarbayeva's hospitalization appeared on May 5, 2025, when it became known that her condition was assessed as serious. Shortly after that, rumors about her sudden death spread on social media; however, official representatives denied this information, calling it inaccurate.
In October 2025, Aidos Ukibai confirmed that Sara Nazarbayeva had been receiving treatment at the National Hospital since April. On February 9, it became known that she had been discharged from the medical facility.
