Today, February 12, the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh made a decision to appoint a new speaker. Marlen Mamataliev was chosen for the vacant position.
The voting took place in a closed session and went quite quickly, as Mamataliev was the only candidate for this position. A total of 83 deputies participated in the voting:
77 voted in favor of his candidacy; 5 voted against.
It should be noted that earlier the same day, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu officially announced his resignation at his own request.
