Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan outline a schedule for visits and new projects


Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, met with Ermek Kosherbaev, his Kazakh counterpart, who arrived in Bishkek on an official visit. During the negotiations, the parties agreed on a schedule for mutual visits for the current year and discussed the implementation of new joint projects.

The ministers focused on the construction of an industrial trade and logistics complex at the border of the two countries. They also discussed the creation of a wholesale distribution center in the Almaty region for the storage of fresh fruits and vegetables, the alternative highway project from Issyk-Kul to Almaty, as well as the modernization of checkpoints and bridges on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.

The ministers thoroughly analyzed the current state of bilateral cooperation in areas such as politics, economics, water resources, and cultural exchanges. They emphasized the need to enhance interregional cooperation, especially in the agricultural sector and industrial cooperation, where they believe there is significant untapped potential.

The discussion also touched upon issues of strengthening interaction on multilateral platforms. The ministers confirmed their unity on important regional issues and expressed their readiness to support each other within international organizations.

Furthermore, the parties expressed their intention to develop cultural and humanitarian ties, including joint initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, and youth policy.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev invited the Kazakh side to actively participate in the upcoming VI World Nomad Games.
