Zheenbek Kulubaev and the head of the Swiss FDI discussed issues of trade, investment, and tourism

On February 23, 2026, in Geneva, a meeting took place between Zheenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Ignazio Cassis, the head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. This meeting was held within the framework of the high-level 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the discussions, the parties touched upon key aspects of Kyrgyz-Swiss cooperation, including political and economic interactions, as well as the implementation of the cooperation program for the period 2026–2029. The issue of collaboration within international organizations was also discussed.

Kulubaev congratulated the Swiss side on its chairmanship in the OSCE in 2026 and expressed readiness for active cooperation within this organization. Both sides noted positive trends in bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of increasing high-level contacts. Special attention was given to the development of trade relations, attracting investments, cooperation in the field of tourism, and joint projects.

Additionally, during the meeting, there was an exchange of views on sustainable development in mountainous regions and the international agenda.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, as well as in developing a constructive dialogue.
