At a parliamentary meeting, Burul Amanova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, expressed concern about the rising number of criminal cases against young citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Russia related to drugs.
She noted that many of these young people are misled and do not always understand what exactly is contained in the packages they send.
Amanova characterized this situation as alarming, emphasizing that citizens are becoming defendants in serious crimes out of ignorance. As an illustration, she cited the case of a girl born in 2001, who is currently imprisoned in Russia for drug trafficking. The deputy urged government agencies to consider the possibility of transferring her to serve her sentence in Kyrgyzstan.
Interestingly, the deputy's conclusions about the increased number of such cases are based solely on one example, without providing any official data on the number of convicted citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Russia.
