At a meeting dedicated to the preparation for the Five-Year Action Plan for the Development of Mountain Territories for 2023-2027, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, discussed important issues.
He noted that the initiative for the global development of mountain regions comes from President Sadyr Japarov and has been supported by the United Nations.
“Kyrgyzstan should become a model for other countries in the field of sustainable mountain development, as it has initiated solutions to global problems of mountain territories,” emphasized Kasymaliev.
However, there were problems with the implementation of the internal Roadmap: the effectiveness of the work of several agencies in preparing reports was deemed unsatisfactory.
In this regard, Kasymaliev ordered the punishment of those officials who did not meet the deadlines.
Also, at the meeting, an action plan for the implementation of the roadmap for 2026 was approved. Heads of state institutions were tasked with intensifying work on a comprehensive survey of mountain territories.
By 2027, the authorities plan to achieve significant results in remote areas, including improvements in water supply, communication, education, and the creation of new sources of income.
The results of this work are scheduled to be summarized at the second global mountain summit "Bishkek+25," which will take place from October 21 to 23, 2027.
